Inter Livery Shoots, 2019

The Inter Livery Clay at Holland & Holland, 15-16 May

It did not pass the Gunmakers that the results for the inter-livery clay shoot were announced at Guildhall at the same time that the Company was elsewhere, enjoying its Summer Banquet. However, that did not deter and the Assistant Clerk was dispatched from Painters’ Hall to monitor the announcements and duly collect the prizes.

The event itself took place this year over two days, 15-16 May at Holland & Holland. The Gunmakers were allowed 7 teams which, despite the ‘format’ being adjusted to spread the prizes, acquitted themselves well. The Court Team (John Browning, Daryl Greatrex, Graham Hill and Carl Langton) were top in the Masters and Court Team,  thus retaining the famous Horners’ Trophy. They also won the Top Livery Team thus retaining the Alan Ritson Cup. Gunmakers B Team won Best side by side (David Williams, Patrick Hawes, Francis Lovel and Mark O’Dowd). And finally, while Nicole Escue was the runner up overall for the ladies, she was the top livery lady shot.

The Ladies’ Team

Congratulations and well done to the teams, with winnings of some £1,500 going to the Gunmakers’ Company Charitable Trust. Our grateful thanks to the organisers of this hugely successful event, Chris Parr of the Environmental Cleaners and Richard Ferrand of the Fishmongers.
