Inter-Livery Clay Shoot 2014

This year’s Inter-Livery Clay Shoot, held as usual at Holland & Holland’s shooting grounds at Northwood, was again blessed with good weather. The Gunmakers fielded eight teams and once again upheld the Company’s tradition of winning prizes.

The only mishap of the day occurred when the Clerk was hit on the forehead by a fragment of clay!

The results were as follows:

  • The Alan Ritson Cup for top Livery Team was won by Gunmakers ‘C’ with a score of 325
  • The Gunmakers’ Prize for Top Livery Gun went again to Ross Straker of the Grocers’ Company with a score of 77
  • The John Howard Cup for top Individual Livery Side by Side went to our Liveryman Mark O’Dowd with a score of 75
  • Top Livery Team Side by Side was won by Clothworkers ‘A’ with a score of  284. Gunmakers ‘A’ – the ‘Hammer Gun Team’, comprised of Liverymen Nigel Brown, Jason Abbott, John Farmer, and Derek Stimpson (Captain), came second with a score of 280
