Inter-Livery Clay Shoot 2015

Despite fielding seven teams this year for the annual Inter-Livery Clay Shoot, the Gunmakers were unable to retain the top Livery trophy which went to the Grocers’ Company. However, we did not come away empty handed.  Our Hammer Gun team, comprised of Liverymen Nigel Brown, Jason Abbott, Paul Roberts and Derek Stimpson won the Side by Side team prize of £500, which they donated equally between the Company’s Charitable Trust and the Gun & Allied Trades Benevolent Trust. Liveryman Mark O’Dowd won the Individual Livery Side by Side trophy,  The John Howard Cup, for the third year in succession and donated his prize money to Trinity Hospice in Clapham.  Congratulations to them all.

Organised most ably by Chris Parr of the Environmental Cleaners’ Company, the event attracted some 400 entrants who enjoyed the excellent facilities that Holland & Holland’s shooting grounds provide at Northwood.

The results were as follows:

  • The Alan Ritson Cup for top Livery Team was won by Grocers ‘A’ with a score of 326
  • The Gunmakers’ Prize for Top Livery Gun went again to Ross Straker of the Grocers’ Company with a score of 78
