Riflemen’s Day at Bisley, 27 April 2022

After a two year break due to Covid, the Company’s traditional Riflemen’s day at Bisley was back on. Five teams of five Gunmakers and their guests, including marksmen and novices, assembled at Bisley on an overcast and slightly breezy day to take to the ranges.

A breeze on the 1000 yards

Before that there were bacon butties, coffee and briefing at Cottesloe Lodge, which was the base for he day, by kind invitation of Liveryman Jim McAllister. A superb barecue lunch punctated the shooting.

To the results; top in the Stalkers’ Test was Liveryman Derek Stimpson, Mini McQueen was Robin Curtis, Running Deer was Liveryman Patrick turner, Running Boar was Liveryman Jean-Louis Holtzhausen and the 1000 yards was our marksman Patrick Turner again. See …here… for all the results.

Coaching was provided courtesy of the British Sporting Rifle Club and thanks were to them and to Liveryman Derek Stimpson (Honorary Archivist) for making all the arrangements for a very succssful and enjoyable event.

Derek Stimpson winning team member and top in the Stalkers’ Test receives his prize from Steve Wallis, BSRC.
