The Lord Mayor visits the Proof House for a proof briefing, 7 July 2022

The Master, Wardens and members of the Court were honoured to receive the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Alderman Vincent Keaveny, at the Proof House on 7 July. The visit, which followed a busy Court meeting, included a comprehensive tour and briefing on the Company’s business – the proof of firearms – as well as its charitable endevours. The Lord Mayor expressed his fascination and also added admiration for the work being undetaken by the Gunmakers’ Company Charitable Trust in support of apprentiships.

The Lord Mayor joined the Court and other guests, including representatives from the Company’s affiliates the Martime Battle Staff and the No.2 Company City of London Army Cadets, for lunch in the Court Room. The event was an opportunity for the Master, Major Graham Hill, to present the Company’s prize to Corporal Daniel Pettersen for his “ outstanding contribution to the Maritime Battle Staff’s endeavour “. He also presented a cheque in favour of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and a History of the Gunmakers’ Company to the Lord Mayor.
